Professor of Sociology at the Institute of Social and Political Studies (IESP) at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Graduated in Social Sciences at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), Master in Sociology at the former University Research Institute of Rio de Janeiro (IUPERJ) and PhD in Sociology at the Institute of Social and Political Studies at the State University Rio de Janeiro (IESP / UERJ) and at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She did a post-doctoral internship at the Center for Research and Documentation of Contemporary History of Brazil of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (CPDOC / FGV). She was an adjunct professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF) between 2017 and 2020. Research coordinator of the Marielle Franco Favelas Dictionary (www.wikifavelas.com.br) based at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ). Has experience in the field of sociology, with an emphasis on urban sociology and sociology of violence, working mainly on research on violence and urban conflicts, slums, sociability, associativism and memory.
