Professor of Sociology and Political Science at the Institute of Social and Political Studies of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (IESP-UERJ), with a Ph.D. from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2013. Author of several articles, books, and book chapters on the intersections between race, gender, affirmative action policies and science studies.
Coordinator of two major research groups in Brazil, the Group of Multidisciplinary Studies on Affirmative Action (GEMAA) and the Observatory of the Social Sciences (OCS), and head of the race relations research committees at two important Brazilian scientific associations, ANPOCS and ABCP. Editor-in-chief of DADOS, the oldest Brazilian scientific journal specialized in Social Sciences active today. Presently holds five research grants from public and private agencies.
