PhD and Master’s degree in Political Science from IESP-UERJ with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (EAP-UNIRIO), Ghaio Nicodemos Barbosa is a researcher and deputy coordinator of the Nucleus for the Study of Foreign Policy Actors and Agendas (NEAAPE) and a researcher at the South American Political Observatory (OPSA). He also serves as an assistant to the Latin American Conversatory, an initiative bringing together researchers from IESP-UERJ, the Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT – Argentina), El Colegio de México (Colmex – Mexico) and the Universidad de los Andes (UniAndes – Colombia).

Former editor of Conjuntura Latitude Sul and the OPSA Bulletin. Has articles published in journals such as the OPSA Bulletin and the NEAAPE Bulletin, as well as book chapters and contributions to thematic anthologies. He regularly participates in conferences, seminars and academic events in the fields of foreign policy, Latin America, public policy and international security, and provides interviews and commentary to the media on the political situation in Latin American countries. His areas of interest include public policy, comparative foreign policy, Brazil’s international policy, interest groups, nuclear policy, Latin America and institutional analysis. As part of his postdoctoral fellowship, he is currently conducting research on Brazilian institutional coordination in strategic minerals policy.
