Guilherme Leite Gonçalves
PhD in Sociology from Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Germany, and PhD in Law from the University of Salento, Italy. He is a Professor of Sociological Theory at the Institute for Social and Political Studies and a Professor of Sociology of Law at the Law School, Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ).
He was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Freie Universität Berlin (FU-Berlin) and Universität Bremen as a Georg Forster Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2011-2013). He was also a Visiting Lecturer (2024) and Humboldt-Fellow at the Department of Political Theory at Universität Kassel (2018–2019), a Senior Fellow at the DFG-Kolleg Postwachstumsgesellschaften at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (2017–2018), and a Visiting Fellow at the International Research Network DesiguALdades.net at Freie Universität Berlin (2015–2016). Additionally, he served as an Associate Lecturer in the M.A. program Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies (LAI) at Freie Universität Berlin (2013–2014). His research interests lie in social theory, particularly in critical sociology, theories of capitalism, and social control.
